Welcome to Southern Caviar

Chef Thomas' background begins with a passion for food, people, and a zest for life. Teresa realized her desire to become a chef at an early age when she found her first job at the local mall food court working in a small eatery called Soupmasters. Realizing her dream so early, and with the full support of her family, Teresa has been able to achieve her goal: to attend culinary school and learn the art of mastering a kitchen.

In 1999, Teresa left Maryland to attend Johnson and Wales University in Charleston, SC. Here, Teresa fell in love with the South and Southern cooking. While working at Jestine's Kitchen she developed her culinary skills. Deciding to leave Charleston, Teresa brought back her culinary vision to her hometown of Washington D.C.

From 2003 to 2008, Teresa became the Executive chef at Southside 815, a Southern restaurant in Old Town Alexandria, VA. There she continued to explore her culinary dreams.

In August 2008, she opened the doors on her first solo project: Southern Caviar. Teresa has returned to the south to give back to the area that is very close to her heart. Her catering company Southern Caviar offers the finest in southern cuisine with a fresh, modern flare.

Special thanks

To our wonderful families: Thank you for supporting us in every way possible! Without every one of you, this would not have been achievable. Thank you especially for the financial backing, but most of all for your love, constant encouragement, and all of your prayers.
